Wasserkuppe

The Wasserkuppe (950 m above sea level) is the highest elevation of the Rhoen and is both her centre.
While the summer toboggan run is the main attraction for the children, the Wasserkuppe is also a meeting point for hang-gliders, gliders and model aeroplane fans. During winter times it is an attractive winter sports centre.
Kreuzberg

The Kreuzberg (928 m) is the sacred mountain of the Francs. There are three Golgotha-crosses on its summit. Fulda

Volkersberg

The Volkersberg is situated north of Bad Brueckenau, one of the most charming hilltops in our native Rhoen landscape.
In its almost 900-year history it always was the centre of the surrounding Franconian and Hessian countryside. Visit the Franciscan cloister or enjoy the Franconian delicacies in the cloister inn with its veranda with wonderful views.
Burgruine Schwarzenfels

The remains of an once stately castle rise on the 492 m high basalt rock over the village Sinntal-Schwarzenfels, 7 km southwest of Volkers.
The view from the Bergfried of the earlier castle is worthwhile. The visitor will have certain memories of the valley of the „Schmalen Sinn“ and the surrounding mountains as one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Hessian neighboring country.
